⚫️ Avoid Fast Food Restaurants
You probably actually know this– but it needs to be stated.
Make your own eggs at home, chop some fresh produce, a small bag of nuts and you have your own version of “fast” food.
⚫️ Eat REAL food (veggies, fruits, lean proteins, healthy fats!)
This means that if your great gram would question what it is or why you’re eating it, it probably isn’t real. Learning to read food labels may make you feel like you need a scientific degree of some sort. All kinds of words that we cannot pronounce or have no clue what it is.
How about more 🍎 🍐 🍊🥑 🍅 🍆 🥒 🥕
and less 🍕 🌭 🍔 🍟 🍦 🍰 🍩 🍪
⚫️Learn to differentiate between hunger and boredom
This one can be hard. We are so ingrained in our habits that we often don’t take the time to LISTEN to our bodies. Next time you reach for food, ask yourself “am I hungry or just bored?” Pay attention to how your stomach feels. Like FAMISHED, must eat now…. or hmmm… I’m really not hungry, just bored.
⚫️ Hydration is Important
Do you know that thirst is often mistaken for hunger? Our bodies NEED water.
How much water do you typically drink?
⚫️ Snack Smart
Look, we are ALL busy. I get it. Instead of store bought packaged crap, try to make your own trail mix. Keep small portions of almonds in your desk drawer or car. Stash your office fridge with carrots, hummus, celery and PB, a basket of fresh fruit instead of candy….. lots of options!
But most importantly– Strive for PROGRESS not PERFECTION
Do you have a guideline that you follow?
